Day 01: Arrival - City Tour of Damascus

Arrived in Damascus, we began the full-day city tour starting with the Via Recta (straight street) already mentioned in the Bible. We visit the Azem Palace housing the Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions and the impressive Umayyad Mosque with the tomb of Salah Addin.

We continue to the chapel of St. Ananias built in the first century. It is of particular importance because it is attached to the memory of Saint Paul. Before his conversion to Christianity, he had a vision here that blinded him for several days and gave him an unshakeable faith.

Then you have the possibility of shopping in the most beautiful souk in Damascus. Its shops display all sorts of goods, especially clothes, fabrics, pastries and handicrafts.

And end the day by passing the Church St. Paul's Window, overnight in Damascus.

Day 02: Damascus - Maaloula - Departure

After breakfast, visit the Damascus National Museum, The national museum: Its visit provides an overview of the civilizations that have succeeded on Syrian soil. It contains statues, seals, jewelry, masks, mosaics, tablets, and weavings from the most important sites in the country.

Then continue to Maaloula A beautiful village against the mountains. Here the language of Christ is still spoken (Aramaic).

We will visit the famous Christian monasteries: one Greek Orthodox dedicated to St. Thekla, the other Greek Catholic dedicated to Saint Sergius.

After the visit departure.
