Day 01: Arrival - City Tour of Damascus
Arrived in Damascus, we began the full-day city tour starting with the Via Recta (straight street) already mentioned in the Bible. We visit the Azem Palace housing the Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions and the impressive Umayyad Mosque with the tomb of Salah addin.
We continue to the chapel of St. Ananias built in the first century. Then you have the possibility of shopping in the Souq and ending the day by passing the Church St. Paul's Window, overnight in Damascus.
Day 02: Damascus - Bosra - Damascus
Breakfast, visit Bosra (also called Bozrah or Bostra; Arabic: Busra ash-Sham) an ancient city 67 miles (108 km) south of Damascus. Once the capital of the Roman province of Arabia, back to Damascus.
Day 03: Damascus - Maaloula - Krak des Chevaliers
After breakfast, drive north on the way to visit Maaloula: Where the people still speak the Aramaic language of Jesus, and proceed to Krak des Chevaliers, the best-preserved fortress from Crusader times in Syria, overnight in Al Mishtaya.
Day 04: Al Mishtaya - Palmyra – Al Mishtaya
Breakfast, move early to Palmyra, It’s one of the most breath-taking and impressive sites all over the world, as you can find 35% destruction, part of the straight street, part of the theatre, the wall of Bell temple, and remains of stone of Baalshamin, the valley of the tombs, the Agora. Back to Al Mishtaya overnight.
Day 05: Al Mishtaya - Homs - Hama - Aleppo
For breakfast, and remains of Homs, visit Um al-Zennar which is the historical Syrian Orthodox Church, the church is built over an underground church dating back to 50 AD, proceed to Hama for a short time to see the Norias, then drive to Aleppo for overnight.
Day 06: Aleppo City Tour
Visit the Citadel of Aleppo a remarkable example of Islamic military architecture, Omayyad mosque which is destroyed without a minaret and part of 11 km long of the thrilling covered Bazaars. Overnight in Aleppo.
Day 07: Aleppo – Lattakia
Drive to visit Ugarit the kingdom that gave humanity the first alphabet in the world. Experts have confirmed the connection between this alphabet and other alphabets in common use nowadays”. Lattakia - Overnight.
Day 08: Lattakia
Visit Saladin citadel: The site has been fortified since at least the mid-10th century. In 975 the Byzantine Emperor John I Tzimiskes captured the site and it remained under Byzantine control until around 1108, back to Lattakia - Overnight.
Day 09: Latakia - Sydnaya - Departure
Drive back to Damascus, visiting Saidnaya: it is a Syrian city that is considered to be one of the deepest-rooted Christian cities in the Middle East. Its name (Seyda Naya) means "Our Lady" departure.
