We start our tour from Damascus and drive north to Krak Des Chevaliers, the most preserved crusader citadel in the world. Undoubtedly one of the finest examples of a Crusader fortress virtually still intact in a magnificent location close to the Mediterranean. Kept for 162 years by the Crusaders and given later to the Mamlouk. Its towers, stables, water cistern, meeting hall, and chapel still give an ever-lasting impression upon the visitors. As described by T.E Lawrence "It is the most wholly admirable castle in the world".
