Krak Des Chevaliers
Krak Des Chevaliers is the most preserved crusader citadel in the world. Undoubtedly one of the finest examples of a Crusader fortress virtually still intact in a magnificent location close to the Mediterranean. Kept for 162 years by the Crusaders and given later to the Mamlouk.
Its towers, stables, water cistern, meeting hall, and chapel still give an ever-lasting impression upon the visitors. As described by T.E Lawrence "It is the most wholly admirable castle in the world".
Hike: Walk in the Mishtayeh region from the Crac des Chevaliers to the Saint Georges Monastery.
